Katie “Hoku” Kirkland, founder of Aerial Arts Academy is available for private coaching sessions.
Private sessions are tailored to the individual to reach their personal performance goals. An assessment of the individual is made to create personalised regimens of conditioning, flexibility and stabilisation exercises along with a clarification of goals and intent of practice. Coaching is not limited to aerial technique, but also to act creation and career development.
These sessions can be for training professionals at any age group, or for youth who are interested in serious development of their skills and career path. Private coaching can be beneficial for those interested in a performance career or in entering formal circus schools.

Katie Kirkland found circus through her family’s circus school, Emerald City Trapeze Arts in Seattle, Wa in the United States. She studied flying trapeze and aerial arts with the world’s top performers hailing from Cirque de Soleil, Ringling Bros, Big Apple Circus, Japan’s Pop Circus and many others, although running the family business kept her productions for the most part locally focused in Seattle.
She studied contortion at Beijing International Circus school and with a private tutor, Vita Radionova from the Ukraine.
Her performance and workshops have taken her worldwide from New Zealand, China, throughout the US and Europe.
Most recently she performed aerial hoop in the Salzburg Festpiele in Mozart’s Opera “Zauberflöte.”
Now being a mother of two, she performs mostly locally in events around Belgium and is focusing more on building a school and training facility.
